Web Design Process:
Just like any tool, a web site is designed to serve a
function. This function is determined by the intended
use of the site and user needs. The aesthetic qualities
of the site follow its function and are influenced
by the experience and design style of the designer, with
direct input from the client. Below you will find an
outline of the web development process with a brief
description of each step.
- Contact: The client contacts the
developer and communicates the want or need for a particular
service. (Web site, cdrom, audio, video, custom graphics,
advertisement, etc...) Sometimes the client chooses
to do this through a formal document known as an RFP
(Request for Proposal).
- Determine Purpose: The developer
responds with a series of questions to determine
the clients needs and establish whether or not the project
falls within the scope of the their skills and availability. For example:
What do you hope
to accomplish
Who will be using
the end product (Specifics)
How simple or detailed
do you need it to be
How soon do you
want the project completed --
