Service by design:  Although a web site can have many benefits they are not always immediate. Some benefits depend on the web site's listing by search engines like Yahoo, Lycos or MSN. Without a search engine, listing your services might only be realized by a handful of people. Search engine submittal is a crucial step in making your services available through the web, but it is by no means the only step. Content and good design -both technical & aesthetic- are the ultimate keys to your sites success. Unless your site is optimized for the search engines it will be just another listing in a sea of links. Coding descriptors called meta-tag keywords, descriptive naming of web pages, robot text documents that tell search engines robots what to look at, and a site's content all play key roles in the searchabillity and ranking of a site.

The design process for a web site can be the most complicated aspect of building it. There are many ways in which a site can be designed and many different scripting and programming languages to implement the inner workings of the site. Deciding which methodologies will work best for you depends on your reasons for needing a site. On the next few pages you will find brief descriptions of some of the more popular site building methodologies.
