sites it has become more versatile and
hardy with recent versions and has added support for

Director is most often used to create
CDROM presentations and applications. Director has web
capabillities and works very well in many instances
where use of a dynamic applications is needed however
it does not hold the ability to draw detailed animations
that Flash is most noted for. The advantages of Director
for CDROM development are in it's handling of Audio
and Video, its dedicated support network and documented
history on the development scene.
Authorware is often used to create CDROM
presentations but is typically use more often for educational
and training purposes. Authorware is noted for it's
ease of use and straightforward interface which has
made it popular in educational and office circles. It
has few advantages over Director though and many developers
stear clear of Authorware due to its seemingly stiff
development environment and it's icon based interface.
All three applications are excellent for creating CDROMs
but each has its specialty which makes it more suited
for certain projects and developers
