Guitarist Available (Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego, Portland)
BASIC INFO:
I'm easy to work with and diplomatic.
My influences range from the extremes but I tend to lean heavily toward rock. I prefer to play rock, punk, cult metal, psychedelic, urban tribal, ambient rock and... anything that sounds trippy and dynamic...whatever all of that means... Although I'm open to ANY interesting musical ideas that aren't country, folk or new age. I am 35 years old, I am not a shredder by any means and I don't read music. A few influences include but are by no means limited to: Breadwinner, Slint, Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Helios Creed, Neurosis, Alice Donut, Mudhoney, early Pink Floyd, The Pixies... (see other influences below)
I am primarily a rhythm guitarist but I can play simple guitar solos and I'm a pretty good improviser. I love to mix it up and experiment with sounds, effects, loops and beats. I have experience with non-linear audio editing (ProTools and Cubase). I also play drums well enough for most (although I don't currently own a trap-set) . I can sing too... but not while I play guitar unfortunately. My drumming style is morstly in the typical range of what I can only describe as minimalist, tribal or basic rock...
I don't know ANY covers. The last band I was in was 1994 in North Portland. We played mostly surf punk and cult metal. Since then I've moved around alot but I'm back in the Portland area PERMANENTLY. I started getting back into music again a few years ago and I'm ready to jump into the frey.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR (In the Portland, OR metro area):
- Guitarists, drummers, Bassists, Keys & Vocalists
AND
- Other people/artists to jam with who are 23 years and older
AND/OR
- A rhythm based, group focused, original & creative band that practices semi-regularly to regularly and wants to gig locally.
AND
- Open minded, non-racist, progressive, musicians and artists with a sense of humor who revel in the pure enjoyment of music/art making, entertaining, socializing/antisocializing, recording and playing local venues.
All religous beliefs, dogmas and faiths are welcome as long as you can accept differences of opinion & contrasting beliefs.

I've been playing off and on for twelve years and I haven't had any formal training. So...I won't fit into your cover band and I'm not a session musician. Although, I am a pretty good artist and I enjoy playing music and gigging.
I will travel to you to jam, within reason. I'm currently living in Hillsboro, OR . I'll travel as far as Portland.
If you're interested then give me a shout. I'm always open to a bit of jamming, fee-loss-o-fizin', jabbering and beer swilling.

- I've been playing off and on for twelve years, I'm not classically or otherwise trained, I don't read music, I'm not a speed soloist
or shredder and I don't play any covers, although I can flub through one Christian death song and the beginning of a Zeke song, so
I'm all original and all me baby!...in my own humble and self deprecating manner that is...
- I can build, maintain, customize and intonate guitars...pretty well. I'm no pro. I refer to books for measurements and settings.
I can't stand modern country, radio numetal or screamo and find most corporate Clear Channel controlled radio annoying at best. This means I don't want to play Blink 182 covers...
- I can play some drums and percussion...Well, I can at least keep a beat...and improvise...on time, although, I don't currently own a kit of my own.
- I can sing backup and possibly front with a little effort.
- I'm 35 and married.
-Yeah, I'm kind of odd. Then again who isn't.
